Sports Awards 2017

We are delighted to see that one of our refurbishment projects Arbour Hill Boxing Club was featured by RTE during their broadcast of the Sports Awards 2017 on Saturday 16th December at 9.15 pm.

Over the last 3 years, Fitzsimons Doyle & Associates have provided Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy Services for renovation works to this Boxing Club.

Arbour Hill Boxing Club provides training, coaching and competition facilities for juvenile, junior, senior male and female boxers. Over 100 people use the Club on a weekly basis with members coming from Cabra, North Circular Road, Manor Street, The Liberties and general North Inner-City area.  Prior to 2014, the condition of the Club Premises had gone into decline and become semi-derelict and unfit for purpose.  The Club Committee embarked on an extensive programme of renovation and refurbishment and created new changing rooms for male and female members.  The premises was re-opened in February 2016 by the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins and it was available to female members for the first time.  The renovation and refurbishment works are continuing at present, with the replacement of the slated roof, the re-pointing of the masonry, upgrading of the windows, internal re-plastering and fitting out of equipment.  All of these works are being carried out under the direction and guidance of the Conservation Department of Dublin City Council. http://www.dublincity.ie/Planning/HeritageConservation
